Opportunities To Support
Najenga Hope - General Fund
Our general fund allows us to support and expand our current projects, respond to urgent needs, and make plans for the future. We are currently caring for more than 80 children, employing 11 mamas and 9 local staff, and providing education for our children and many other students with fees and school supplies. Looking ahead, we hope to rebuild the community centre we lost in early 2023, establish a medical clinic near our children at Emmanuel Centre in Congo, and continue to provide for the needs of the people we serve.
We currently have 2 agricultural projects underway in Congo. The first is on approximately 2.5 hectares near Rutemba village, with maize, cassava, beans, lenga-lenga, and fruit frees already planted. Further to the north we have rented 1 hectare of land and are currently cultivating maize and beans. Two growing seasons in this area means two harvests that help to support the children of Emmanuel Centre and the people of Rutemba village. The need is great, so we hope to be able to expand both projects in the future. By partnering with Farming God's Way, we plan to host seminars for neighbouring farmers to learn more effective ways to cultivate their own land.

Najenga Hope Emmanuel Centre
Emmanuel Centre was established in the high plateau of eastern Congo in 2009. There were six homes, a school, flour mill, and agricultural project. In 2021, war broke out and our children, staff, and many from the community were forced to flee. Currently we have relocated to the town of Uvira where our 39 children are now safely housed in a rented compound and are attending our nearby school, Ecole Shalom. Our hope is to one day re-establish Emmanuel Centre in a more secure area of Eastern Congo, where we can resume the projects that were serving the people in those communities.
School materials: $2800 CAD
